Summer’s on our head again and we need to think of some really nice cocktail recipes to keep our throats wet and spirits high. Let’s go through the recipes of some really cool cocktails which are simple to make and you can never go wrong with them.
Yep, this cocktail is sure as smooth and suave as Angelina herself. Take 3 glasses of fresh orange juice, 10 pineapple slices, a bunch of ice cubes and 2-3 spoons of raspberry crush or syrup. Mix the orange and pineapple juice with ice cubes in the blender. Add a splash of the raspberry concentrate. Add one measure of vodka and pour this concoction into a long beer glass. Garnish it with fresh basil and cool off for the day.
2. Singapore Sling
Did you know that this drink is as old as the British Empire in its glory in the late eighteenth century? It is said that they would get together at cricket clubs and sip the same mixture of, what we call today, the Singapore Sling. Make a mixture of two measures of gin, one measure of lemon juice and brandy (preferably cherry flavored) and 1 teaspoon grenadine. Top it with a few ice cubes and mix well in a shaker. Put a long glass to pre-chill in the freezer and strain this mixture in it. Add one quarter of soda water in the glass and place a lovely lime peel slice on its rim. Fill quarter of the glass with ice cubes and add 2 oz. of Blanco or Reposado Tequila, if available easily. Otherwise just go with the regular variety. Add 0.5 oz. of lime juice and follow that mixture up with 6 oz. of fresh grapefruit soda. Mix the concoction mildly and you will have a light and lovely cocktail ready to roll.
